1、 Overview
Tetrahydrophiophene (THF) is an organic compound with a pungent odor that poses certain hazards to human health and the environment. To ensure personnel safety and prevent environmental pollution, this emergency plan is specially formulated.
2、 Scope of application
This plan is applicable for emergency response to accidents such as leakage, fire, explosion, etc. that occur during the production, storage, transportation, and use of tetrahydrothiophene.
3、 Organizational structure and responsibilities
- Emergency Command Center: Responsible for unified leadership and coordination of emergency response work.
- Technical rescue team: responsible for technical rescue and emergency response at the accident site.
- Medical rescue team: responsible for the medical rescue of injured personnel at the scene of the accident.
- Environmental monitoring team: responsible for environmental monitoring at the accident site.
- Information Promotion Group: Responsible for collecting, publishing, and guiding public opinion on accident information.
- Logistics Support Team: Responsible for material support, traffic diversion, and logistics services at the accident site.
4、 Emergency response measures - Leakage accident
(1) Quickly evacuate personnel from the contaminated area to a safe zone, isolate them, and strictly restrict their entry and exit.
(2) Cut off the fire source. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear self-contained positive pressure respirators and firefighting protective clothing.
(3) Cut off the leakage source as much as possible to prevent it from entering restricted spaces such as sewers and drainage ditches.
(4) Small amount of leakage: it can be absorbed by activated carbon or other inert materials, or it can be brushed with lotion made of incombustible dispersant, and the lotion will be diluted and put into the wastewater system.
(5) Massive leakage: constructing embankments or digging pits for containment; Cover with foam to reduce steam disaster. Transfer to a tanker or dedicated collector using an explosion-proof pump, and recycle or transport to a waste disposal site for disposal. - Fire accidents
(1) Start the fire fighting system immediately and use carbon dioxide, foam, dry powder and other extinguishing agents to extinguish the fire.
(2) Personnel evacuation: Organize personnel to quickly evacuate the accident site to ensure personnel safety.
(3) On site alert: Set up a cordon to prohibit unrelated personnel from entering. - Explosion accidents
(1) Immediately activate the emergency plan and organize personnel evacuation.
(2) Cut off the power and gas sources around the accident site to prevent secondary accidents from occurring.
(3) On site alert: Set up a cordon to prohibit unrelated personnel from entering.
5、 Emergency supplies and equipment - Personal protective equipment: self-contained breathing apparatus, protective clothing, gas mask, etc.
- Fire extinguishing equipment: carbon dioxide extinguisher, foam extinguisher, dry powder extinguisher, etc.
- Fire fighting vehicles: water tanker, foam truck, dry powder truck, etc.
- Emergency supplies: activated carbon, non combustible dispersants, collectors, etc.
6、 Emergency drill - Regularly organize emergency drills to improve emergency response capabilities.
- The drill content includes: leakage accidents, fire accidents, explosion accidents, etc.
- After the drill, summarize the drill process and improve the emergency plan.
7、 Supplementary Provisions - This plan shall be implemented from the date of its release.
- This plan is interpreted by the emergency command center.
- If there are any matters not covered in this plan, they can be supplemented and improved according to the actual situation.
