As one of gas companies’ active safety measures, fuel gas odorization has drawn people’s more attention. The odorant that is commonly used in domestic market at present includes thiophane (THT) and TBM, both of which contains sulfur element (S) and generates SO2 upon combustion, influencing the quality of gas combustion. They could also exert influence on the quality of some industrial users’ products and pollute the environment. With people’s higher demands on clean energy, the sulphur content in natural gas has been controlled more strictly. It has become the development trend to use sulphur-free odorant.Similar to conventional odorant in terms of functions, sulphur-free odorant is a kind of substance that could bring warning effect and could be fully mixed with natural gas. It is under gas status in fuel gas pipeline but is not corrosive. It does not do harm to human body and the environment during combustion.
